I have a bay window that my cats (4 of them) love to sleep on. After shopping for a cushion for them to sleep on, I was discouraged by the high prices. So I started looking for cat beds (way too expensive for something large, and the cheaper ones were to small or poor quality). I came upon this mat which is sold for a dog bed. I needed two and the size was perfect, as was the price. I rarely buy things with no reviews but took a chance. Well, I’m more than satisfied. My cats love it and it’s reversible. It has fleece on one side for the winter, and canvass on the other for the summer. My cats love it. It has pleanty of padding and stays put without being secured down. Great purchase and great item to be used for more than the dog bed it is intended to go with. |

Unbelievable. Two of the four legs were so bent that it couldn’t even stand up straight. The bottom half of one of the lion’s faces was broken off and laying in the box. And if that weren’t enough, the bowls were NOT 2 quarts. I paid .99 for model #665 which is supposed to include two 2-quart bowls. The packing slip said #665 but the bowls are 1 quart bowls. Don’t these people know how to measure? It doesn’t even deserve one star.

I received mine dog bowls today and on of the legs is broken so it won’t stand up straight and one of the other pieces on it is broken too. One thing I really don’t like about buying things online is when things like this happen. I don’t want to go out of my way to repackage it mail it back and wait for another one so I’ll get some super glue and fix it. I give it one star b/c it’ll still get the job done but what a piece of ****!b

I purchased this bed mat to go with the Kakadu pet bed. I love this bed mat. The fact that it has straps that keep the mat in place is fabulous. I love that I have the option of using the canvas side or the fleece side. The only thing I would have changed about the bed mat is that I would have preferred the fleece being the same color as the canvas. The reason for that is we bought the hay color to match our furnishings in our home and to best match the color of our dog’s hair. So needless to say, if the color hay matches our dog’s hair then the color of dark gray fleece does not! Our dogs white hair shows up really bad on the fleece. I have a 6-year old English Mastiff, and he LOVES this bed. Previously he had a bumper bed, which he liked well enough, but this one is ten times better. He loves resting his head on the bolster, and the bed is big enough for him to stretch and spread out comfortably. He used to have a favorite armchair to sleep in that he would sneak onto at night, but he doesn’t even bother anymore with this bed! The bed is easy to wash as the cover can be unzipped and the cushion+egg crate removed. The one complaint I have is that it takes some effort to get the egg crate back into the cover (this is probably only an issue with the extra large version of the bed). Even so, I still give it top marks!

We got this beasely couch for our almost 2 yr old ridgeback and he absolutely loves it. We have been looking to get him a bed that has bolster on the sides so that he could rest his head on the bolster. This bed perefctly does the job. The bolsters have enuf filling in them to not sink under the dog’s head and the actual bed has egg crate foam that is thick enuf to be comfortable. Before this bed, we had the standard rectangular bed and he would get up several times at night, but with his one, he sleeps like a baby.

I am really thrilled with this pet bed, as I think it is a bargain for the price. I have a pug who is 6 or 7 years old, has some arthritis, and enjoys sitting in the sun or in front of the fire. It took some getting used to, but she seems to really like it. Here are a few things I love about this bed, and reasons why I think it is surprising that it costs so little: -It is a decent size, and perfect for my pugs. Even my (very large) cats can fit in it. I should also note a couple of things. First, another reviewer noted that the instructions said that you can’t keep the bed plugged in all the time, but I didn’t read that in my instructions. I use the quick plug, as noted above, but I didn’t see that it said to unplug it after a certain amount of time. Second, I also want to note that Amazon has this the cheapest. I found this originally on a pet supply site, and it was more expensive there. Plus, you get free shipping with Amazon.

With a geriatric cat in the house, I do what I can to keep her comfortable, especially in the cool months. This is a good way to keep cats warm. The “mini” size is the perfect size for one non-obese cat to curl up in, with room left over for a litter of kittens, as well. I read all the other reviews before buying this and noted some of the complaints. Some claim that it’s not hot enough or soft enough. Think about it for a minute. Have you ever had a cat climb into your lap and promptly go to sleep? This bed is no harder than your lap, and about as warm. When my cat gets into it, she purrs as if she was in my lap and appreciates that the heat is constant, unlike the radiators in the house which cycle hot and cold. You can prove it to yourself by plugging it in then putting your hands on it about 30 minutes later. It won’t feel instantly warm like an electric heater, but after about 30 seconds, your palms will feel comfortable. If any skeptics think that’s just the foam insulating your palms, try moving your hands to the outer edges of the foam pad. You’ll feel a definite difference between the center and the edge. For those of you worried about unplugging it, “when not in use” obviously refers to warm weather or when you’re leaving on vacation and taking your pet with you. Mine stays plugged in all the time and hasn’t caused a fire yet. It’s ETL listed for both the US and Canada. ETL Testing Laboratories is comparable to the better-known (within the US) Underwriters Laboratories. The heating pad draws a meager 9 watts. You’re more likely to have a fire with your average 1000-watt space heater. One thing you can try if your pet likes to chew on cords is to wrap the cord in a few layers of crumpled aluminum foil, an old trick. Many pets don’t like the feel and sound of chewing on foil. You can also try sprinkling hot chili flakes or ground pepper into the foil before wrapping the outermost layer. If they get through the first layer of foil, they’ll hit the hot ingredient and hopefully find the taste repulsive. Just replace foil and flakes every few months to maintain potency.

These beds are being recalled. The power adaptors that were sold with the heated beds from September 2006 through April 2010 are faulty. They can can cause an electrical arc when removed from the bed, posing a fire hazard. Stop using the power adaptor and contact the company at 800-732-2677 to receive a replacement. This came directly from the September 2010 issue of Consumer Reports. |

My dog loves this bed. This is actually the second one we’ve bought for him. Unfortunately, we had to buy a second one because after a couple of months of our dog pawing (and occasionally biting) at his bed, it developed a lot of holes and the stuffing started falling out. Obviously, it’s made of fabric, and biting/scratching will eventually lead to holes. I just wish the fabric was a bit more heavy duty so that it could have taken a bit more punishment. That being said, the dog loves it. It’s comfortable, lots of padding, and fits easily into corner. |
